Get the confidence and skills you need to land a job and thrive, for free.
Seven out of ten who finish Spear are in work or study a year later.
Please reach us at hello@spearbrighton.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.
You’ll be in a group of 10-15 young people who aren’t earning or learning.
On weekday afternoons for 4-6 weeks, our friendly coaches will lead the group through topics like presenting, interview practice and CV writing. You may visit a company, and you’ll get access to our network of employer partners.
But much more than all this, the coaches will work with you to boost your confidence and transform your belief in what you can do.
Spear treats you like an adult – we’re coaches, not teachers. We work with you to help you achieve your career goals.
Most of our trainees have at least one challenge, such as low qualifications, struggles with their mental health, or a criminal record. We’ve supported thousands of young people with these challenges to get a job and thrive. We believe anyone can overcome barriers to work. We believe in your potential.
Spear grads go into a wide variety of jobs, from customer service, retail, business admin, health and construction to a range of apprenticeships, including in hospitality and financial services.
Others go back to college or on to university. Once you’ve got a job, our coaches keep in touch with you for a year to help you think about the next steps in your career.
Our coaches will support you in every way they can, and they have a great track record. Three out of four people who complete the group coaching stage – the first 4-6 weeks of the Spear Programme – get into work or further training and are still there a year later.
We can’t cover costs directly but your coach will be able to help you explore other options.
